Privacy Policy

This website is published by Technologies Krizaka Inc., a company incorporated under the laws of Québec, operating as Krizaka (Montréal, Québec, Canada).

The person in charge of the protection of personal information is the founder and president of the company. You reach them through the contact form on krizaka.com (topic “Other”); there is no other channel to look for.

Krizaka builds software that keeps data where it belongs. This page says what this website collects, what it does with it and who handles it. If a practice is not written here, it does not happen.

The only way you give us personal information is the contact form. We receive your name, your e-mail address, your organisation if you give it, the topic, the timing if you give it, your message, the language of the page and the page you came from (so we know which product you asked about).

We use them only to reply to you. By sending the form you agree that we use them for that. We do not sell them, share them for marketing, use them to profile you or send you anything you did not ask for.

The message is delivered to the team by e-mail, through our e-mail provider Mailgun, and may also be posted to a private team messaging channel. We keep it as long as the conversation needs it, then delete it.

To limit abuse, the server counts messages per IP address in memory (five every ten minutes). That count is not written anywhere and disappears when the server restarts.

Like any web host, the platform that serves this website keeps technical logs — IP address, time, page requested, browser — for security and abuse prevention, under its own policy.

Images, videos and recordings are served from a content delivery network (Bunny). Your browser contacts it directly when a page loads them, so it sees your IP address and the request, as any server does. Fonts and scripts are served by krizaka.com itself.

There is no analytics, no advertising, no tracking pixel and no social-network widget on this website.

One functional cookie, NEXT_LOCALE, remembers the language you chose (one year). Your theme preference (dark or light) is kept in your browser's local storage, under the name kz-theme.

No analytics cookie, no advertising cookie, no third-party cookie. Because both items only remember a choice you made, no consent banner is shown.

dev.orochia.com is a development environment of Orochia that we run for testing and demonstration. If you create an account there, what you enter (e-mail address, username, password hash, content, activity) is stored in a database attached to the application on DigitalOcean (Toronto) and is readable by the team. E-mails it sends go through Mailgun and videos through Bunny.

It is not a production service: it can be reset or erased at any time, so use test data only. A Terms section describes it.

Not open yet: the blog's sign-in is switched on only once this service runs, and until then none of the data below is collected. This section says now what will happen then.

The blog lets you sign in with GitHub, Google, Apple or Facebook to comment, receive replies and keep your saved posts on every device. Signing in creates a Krizaka account, held by accounts.krizaka.com. It is not an account of any of our products: Orazaka, Yomizaka and the others keep their own users, and a Krizaka account gives no access to them.

We keep the provider you used and its identifier for you, the e-mail address that provider verified, your display name, your comments, the posts you saved, and whether you want reply e-mails. We use them only to run your account: show your name next to your comments, keep your saved posts, and — only if you turn it on — tell you by e-mail that someone replied. No password, no IP address kept, no profiling, no advertising.

Your first comment waits for a moderator before it appears; comments can be reported and hidden pending review. Comments are checked by Cloudflare Turnstile against abuse. Reply e-mails go through our e-mail provider, Mailgun, and each one has a one-click unsubscribe link.

The data is stored in Krizaka's database on DigitalOcean (Toronto). From your account page you can download everything your account holds as a file, remove a sign-in provider, stop reply e-mails, or delete the account: the account, its saved posts and settings are deleted, and its comments too (a deleted comment that has replies keeps its place without text or name). Posts saved without an account stay in your browser only.

Orazaka, Orochia and the building blocks are open source and self-hosted: they run on your infrastructure and process data under your control. They send us no telemetry. Yasakia, Yororis, Kachizaka and Akinaza are not deployed and collect nothing.

If you connect external services to them (AI providers, payment gateways, video CDN), the data you send goes directly to those providers under their own policies.

DigitalOcean — hosts this website and the development environment (Toronto, Canada).

Bunny.net — serves media (images, videos, recordings) of this website, and videos of the development environment.

Mailgun — delivers the contact-form e-mails and those of the development environment.

GitHub and npm — host our code and packages. They are not involved when you read this site; they receive the data you give them if you follow a link and use them, under their own policies.

These providers may process data outside Québec and Canada. We chose them for what they do, and the list is complete as of the date above.

Under Québec's Law 25, the federal PIPEDA and, if you are in Europe, the GDPR, you may ask to access, correct or delete the information you sent us, withdraw your consent, and obtain a copy of it in a usual format. Write to us through the contact form and we will answer within 30 days.

If you are not satisfied, you may complain to the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec, to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or, in Europe, to your data protection authority.
